The Most Worshipful The Grand Master has today been pleased to announce that the Trustees of the Order of Women Freemasons' Grand Charitable Trust have decided to donate £100,000 to help those in distress during these difficult times.
The MW Grand Master said "There are so many in need and it is very difficult to know where to place these funds. After discussion the Trustees have agreed that the money will be divided between the following charities:
St John Ambulance towards funding the work of their volunteers as they support of the NHS
Salvation Army to support food banks
Women’s Aid to help fund the assistance given to those experiencing domestic violence
We hope these donations will in some small measure help to relieve suffering.
We will get through this dreadful time and we must all look forward to happier times in the future. Stay safe and well."
Alongside this donation the MW Grand Master acknowledged the individual members and Lodges of the OWF who are working hard in their own areas by donating their time, skills, money and friendship to those in need. Many members already work on the NHS frontline, have come out of retirement to work on wards and community care facilities, have signed up as NHS volunteer responders, are raising money for foodbanks and helping the homeless and are supporting those isolated in their communities.
