Since the early 1900's International Women's Day has been celebrating the empowerment and achievements of women.

Since 1906 the Order of Women Freemasons has been a platform for women to feel empowered and celebrate their achievements through their friendships created with other women throughout the world, their acts of charity towards others and being a good and upright members of society.
Tonight Scotland will be celebrating Burns Night - a celebration of the poet Robbie Burns. Robbie Burns became a Freemason in 1741. In 1801, after his death in 1796, a group of his masonic friends gathered to celebrate his life and work - Haggis was served and his works recited and sung. The tradition has continued ever since throughout the world on his birthday - 25th January.
The Order of Women Freemasons is delighted to congratulate Bro Balbir Seimar, a member of Lodge St Crispin No 146 in Walsall, who has been awarded The British Empire Medal (BEM) in the Queen’s New Year Honours List 2021 “for her services to the homeless and to the community of Walsall”. Bro Seimar BEM is one of only 397 recipients from throughout the UK to have been awarded this honour.

The Most Worshipful Bro Zuzanka Penn, Grand Master, and all the members of the Order of Women Freemasons send their festive greetings and best wishes for the New Year to all.

Members are looking forward to the time when lodges can resume meetings safely in 2021 and, as well as catching up with old friends, look forward to welcoming new members into their lodges.

Happy Christmas and stay safe.

The Order of Women Freemasons' Grand Lodge Christmas tree has been put up and its lights are shining for the festive season.
Thanks to the Grand Lodge housekeeper the Grand Lodge building has been lit up with its annual Christmas tree. Having been unable to visit the building for so long it is a wonderful sight for the Order's members to see!

Although the current suspension of meetings continues over the coming weeks and months members continue to look forward to the day when their local lodges can safely meet and they can travel to Pembridge Gardens to attend Grand Lodge meetings.
On Remembrance Day 2020 members of the Order of Women Freemasons showed they remembered. A 'poppy collage' displaying members' talents with poppies painted, drawn, knitted, tapestries made, windows displayed, a facemask and even a jigsaw was created to pay tribute to the men and women of the Armed Forces who have served and sacrificed to defend our nation.
In February 1926 Lady Haig, a member of the Honourable Fraternity of Antient Masonry (now known as ‘The Order of Women Freemasons’), established the Lady Haig’s Poppy Factory (Poppy Scotland) in Edinburgh and designed a poppy for Scotland.
