Visitors at Lodge de Lovetot No 299’s recent Installation Ceremony helped the members celebrate their Lodge’s amazing milestone of 50 years since it was consecrated.

The Lodge's origins began with an advertisement in the Worksop Guardian during 1974/75 putting a call out for women who may be interested in becoming Freemasons. Many replies were received including from two ladies who are still members today. Following such a good response Lodge de Lovetot was consecrated on Sunday 31st August 1975 by RW Bro Winifred Prior, the then Deputy Grand Master. Two hundred and thirty women freemasons filled the temple at St Barnabas Masonic Hall in Barnsley to view this momentous occasion and one that would live in the memories of all who attended. The Lodge was named ‘de Lovetot’ which derives from the first lords of the Manor of Worksop.

Members meet at Worksop Masonic Hall five times a year and along with ceremonies enjoy social occasions together, building and strengthening long term friendships with other women freemasons throughout the country and living by the traditional values of life and fundamental principals of Freemasonry - friendship, service, integrity and respect.
