CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS

The Order of Women Freemasonry celebrated its centenary in June 2008.
A meeting was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London,
attended by members of the Order, friends and guests.

The programme included a procession of all the Banners of The Order's Lodges, introduced by Area. Below is just one group - the Lodge Banners from North and South Wales, Shropshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. They are ranged behind The Most Worshipful The Grand Master (centre), M. W. Bro. Brenda Fleming-Taylor, and (left to right) the Deputy Grand Master, R.W. Bro. Margaret Masters and the two Assistant Grand Masters, R.W.Bro Betty Wildman and R.W.Bro. Zuzanka Penn.

The scope of the Further and Higher Degrees worked was
demonstrated by an assembly of representatives of each
Degree and Order, dressed in the appropriate regalia.

A Service of Thanksgiving followed, after which The Most Worshipful The Grand Master presented cheques of a quarter of a million pounds each to two charities -Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Support. The money has been collected by the Brethren over several years and the charities were chosen by them. The proceedings were closed with a Cavalcade of Highlights of the Century, in a song and dance, against a backdrop of images of national and Masonic events and pictures of the eight Grand Masters over the last one hundred years.
